Poland’s Martyna Basta (PL) is located at the intersection of ambient, neofolk and art pop. Her latest releases have already reaped high praise in recent years from BBC 6, Pitchfork and Dazed (that tipped her work for fans of Slowdive, Chris Watson and claire rousay).
So it’s no coincidence that the spring of 2025 will see the release of the album hotel room (via Unsound), a collaboration between Martyna Basta and claire rousay. As a matter of fact, 2025 will be a busy year for Basta. Besides a residence at GRM (Groupe de Recherches Musicales) in Paris, she will also be working hard on her solo album on Stroom (Milan W., Kwart voor Straks, Sergeant, Merope, Voice Actor, …).
