YHWH Nailgun
“This New York-based experimental group fuses searing synthesizers, sickening drum lines, and propulsive guitars making for a truly primal and evocative collection of grindcore sounds” (Line of Best Fit)
YHWH Nailgun (US) - pronounced: Yahweh, ‘like the name of God in the Hebrew Bible’ - is a fresh addition to the recent wave of experimental bands like Black Midi or Clown Core (with Sam Gendel). Their lively, energetic and eclectic sound arises from the distortion of industrial noisescapes into digitised electronic dancefloor anthems, with a singer who sounds like he is simultaneously being tortured and climaxing.
This four-piece band from New York already landed major festivals like Best Kept Secret and Pitchfork Music Festival during their young career, and have just been signed by AD 93 Recordings (who also have the likes of BRDCST-favourite Moin under contract). Brooklyn Vegan: “It’s a noisy, eerie, polyrhythmic offering that kinda sounds like Akron/Family jamming with Show Me The Body in the midst of a bad acid trip.”
