CM von Hausswolff
A king(!), (minimalist) electronic composer and visual artist with releases on the prestigious labels Raster_Noton and Touch
Anna called me and asked ... so how could I refuse?” was CM von Hausswolff’s (SE) response when his daughter requested his presence at BRDCST, which she is curating this year. The Swedish Carl Michael von Hausswolf is not only a composer but also a visual artist and a point of reference in performance audio and radical music. He collaborated with Jim O’Rourke and Jónsi (Sigur Rós) under the name Dark Morph. His releases have appeared on prestigious (electronic) labels such as Raster_Noton and Touch.
CM von Hausswolff is also known as King Michael l, co-founder of the Kingdoms of Elgaland-Vargaland, a micronation along the lines of Laibach’s NSK (Neue Slowenische Kunst). This digital nation counts about 1,000 ‘residents’, including kindred spirits Richard Kern, noise terrorist Russell Haswell, Fennesz, Ryoji Ikeda and, of course, Anna von Hausswolff.
